How long have we been singing together?  Read on:

1965     Harvesters first form and take the name from their local pub in Solihull. Members include Allan Burbidge, Paul Oliver, Mike Cornes and Bob Sture (who now resides in Canada and regularly emails us).

1968    Sue joins the group, the only female member of the group in its history. Tony Shew joins later that year, playing banjo, mandolin and guitar, and appears with Sue, Mike and Allan on an EP and both of the early albums, The Harvesters at The Boldmere and The Harvesters.

1976    Ian joins from local folk group The Mobile Workshop, bringing cittern, tenor banjo, concertina, 12-string guitar and mandolin.

1978-80    Ian turns professional musician, working mostly in Norway and Sweden as solo artist. Replaced during his absence by an unpredictable but brilliant fiddler called Roy.

1980    Harvesters appear at Medieval Banquets at Warwick Castle for the next FOURTEEN years. Frightening!

1985    Sue & Ian play at Rockford Folk Festival, USA, alongside a number of US folk  legends, including Bob Gibson (who had a huge hit with "Abilene"), Bryan Bowers and Anne Hills.

1985    Sue, Ian & founder member Allan Burbidge tour the Falkland Islands and Ascension Island with Christmas Show, bringing Christmas cheer to the troops stationed there.

1994    Ian & Sue decide to concentrate on their own, unique, self-penned songs and the rest, as they say, is history.

1996       Ian & Sue perform their songs for Her Majesty The Queen, during Royal visit to Warwick.

1998       Winners of “Border Ballads Now” song writing competition at Border Gathering. Had received honourable mention in previous year's competition with "The Moon In A Bottle" about a different sort of border!

2000    Ian & Sue return to perform in the USA. Allan Burbidge dies after long illness and is mourned by many. Ian & Sue sing at his wake and "Wild Mountain Thyme" from album "Twelve Years On" is played during funeral service.

2008    More Festivals, clubs and concerts. Still planning that next album and now reintroducing a number of traditional songs with our own special arrangements!
